title="Rummy" href="/">rummy that is not so known. Many of the rummy games are named after a country, usually because these versions are played mostly in that country. In some cases only the name indicates a country, or region, but the game is played in other places.

In our case the name shows a region, but the game itself is played in other parts. The game we are talking about is Persian Rum. This type of rummy is not so different. It derives from partnership rummy, where players get in teams. This restricts the number of players to four, in this way there will be two teams.

Since there are only four players, the game is played with one deck. This one deck means more than just 52 cards. Jokers are also used, four of them. Unlike other types of rummy, in this game jokers are not used as wildcards. This makes the game play a bit different.

Persian rum is played like any other partnership rummy, but it is a bit trickier, because jokers cannot be used as wildcards. Jokers are like regular cards and count 20 points. They count more than other cards and if four jokers are melded, they count 160 points, so they help a lot in getting a good score, but they are not helpful in a quicker meld. In this game it is not important to meld as soon as possible. This means a longer play, because rounds last longer.

A round in a game ends after two deals. The game does not last long and it is based on a good cooperation. This makes the strategies used in this game a bit hard. In every card game where two players play in a team, they have to communicate in some way. If they want, they can simply speak, but than the others will know what they talked and they can compromise their cards or strategy. They can speak in code, only known by them or they can use body language. The goal is to have a good communication channel so things can flow over easily. In this way the team can be quicker and more effective.

The fact that jokers cannot be used as wildcards is a bit frustrating. It seems like Persian Rum uses jokers just to have enough cards for the two teams. 56 can be divided be 4, so maybe this is the reason this game uses this number of cards. This number also makes sure that someone loses. This is because it is impossible to meld all cards, since there are runs and sets that contain three or five cards. Since 56 cannot be divided by these numbers, after melds someone will remain with some cards in hands.

The hardness in this game is the communication, because otherwise there are no difficult strategies to know. Jokers are like simple cards, so all a player has to know is how to meld simple sets and runs.

Michigan Rummy

Rummy

Michigan

Michigan Rummy

Rummy can be played totally different, depending on the type we are using. Usually rummy is a game that is played with simple cards by players and there are no accessories that help in the game. There are some variations, however, where other things are also used, such as a board and chips.

These things can be found in Michigan rummy. It is a bit weird that a game like rummy is played with chips and a play board, but in this game this is totally normal. Otherwise the game is played the same as any other type of rummy, meaning that the goal is to get rid of cards as soon as possible.

The things get a bit hard when we have to talk about the play itself. This is where a greater difference shows. In a round chips are used to bet. Players can place bets for a dummy hand that was dealt to no one. When that hand is taken by someone, it has to be played till the end. Another thing to know is that players do not get the same number of cards. This is not strict, they can get the same number, but it is not necessary.

These things make the game harder than usual. Of course, after someone learned how to play, it will not seem so hard, but for a beginner it might be a bit much.

The play is also a bit different. Players always have to play the lowest card in a suit. If they do not, they have to pay for it by adding chips to the fields on the board. On the board there are fields with different numbers. They represent the place of money cards. Money cards mean that a player can collect the chips from a field when he discards the card that matches that field. The goal is to discard all cards and gather as many points as possible. Here the points are represented by chips. The goal is to take the chips from the center of the board that is the jackpot. The player, who gets the jackpot, gets a lot of points, because from the other fields chips were taken during the game, but in the center chips just gathered. This means that the most chips on the board are in the center and the winner takes a lot of points this way.

Michigan rummy is a type of rummy that is played in casinos and it has similarities with Tripoli. This gives an explanation on the fact that this version of rummy is so hard. It can be pretty challenging to understand this game well, so it also needs persistence until someone gets to know it. Probably this hardness is the reason why many people love this game. It is a bit like poker or other chips based game, but it is not so popular. It is hard to understand well, so it will be played only by those who know it pretty well.

Liverpool Rummy

Rummy

Contract Rummy

Liverpool

Liverpool Rummy

rummy. The one we are talking about is Liverpool rummy. For many people this is like any other type of rummy, but for us this game has things in it that made someone to add a whole new name to the game.

It is said that basically Liverpool rummy is like contract rummy. The difference is in cutting. This means that a player can cut the cards. If the cards are cut in a way that there are equivalent cards to the number of cards that are needed to deal and a face-up card also remains, the player who cuts is got rid of 50 points from the score.

Otherwise the game remains the same as contract rummy. It is played by 2 to 5 players by three decks. Jokers and 2s are also used as wildcards. There are some restrictions, however, because a run or set has to contain at least two normal cards. This, of course, makes players pay more attention. This way the wildcards are used more carefully and with more attention.

Players will play in a way that is best for wild cards. This means that wild cards are best used in sets and runs that value more. For example if a player has a run of 3,4,5 a wild card will be kept for a better hand, especially if the player has better cards in hands. Of course, this run can also be extended, but that requires further cards. Since the game is played with three decks, there are enough combination of cards that can get in a players hand. This means that it is better to wait for some more rounds until using a wild card. If there is no other option, than the wild card can be used in the set or run already melded.

Even Liverpool rummy has some variants. One is Florida rummy that is similar with few differences. I buy sausages is also a variant, but here are some major differences. The game is played the same, but fewer cards are dealt. This means that players get only six cards each in the first deal and one more in every deal. The game ends at the 8th hand where a player gets 13 cards. “Me” is also a variant, where players have to tell “me”. Whoever told faster gets a card from the discard pile with some penalty. This can be a good strategy only if a player knows the last card of the discard pile and that card can bring more points than the penalty that was needed to get the card.

Like in many games, there are no major differences between this variant and any other. For a starter player these many variants can be only confusing, but the players who play a lot know, that these small differences alter the game and that will need a whole different style to play. This is why rummy is so diverse.

Shanghai Rummy

Rummy

Shanghai Rum

Shanghai Rummy

Some things about Shanghai rummy.

What do you think: how many variations rummy has? It is said that it’s spread all over the world and many people play it. Maybe the names of variations tell us these things, like Shanghai rummy. Since rummy is a two thousand years old game, and it originates from eastern cultures, it is not a wonder that we meet with names like Shanghai rum.

The truth is that this game is just another variation of manipulation rummy. Like so many other types of rummy, this is played by the basic rules of rummy. There are, of course, some differences. This type can be played by up to eight players. This means a lot of players, and since there are so many players, a lot of cards are needed. This is why this game is played even with four decks. Jokers are also used as wild cards along deuces. Players get eleven cards each and the dealer is always another player in every turn, usually the one to the left from the previous dealer.

A cool thing in shanghai rum is that a player who has melded all his cards will still have to play. He will get cards from the table and will be able to manipulate his or other player’s sets or runs. In other types of rummy players want to get out as soon as possible, because after they melded all the cards, they win that round. In this game, however, the goal is to make as many points as possible.

Since there is no reason to rush with melding, players have the possibility to think things through better. This can result in better hands, but since manipulation of sets and runs already melded is also possible, this game suggests a calm play. Players have enough time to think of everything before melding, but even after they melded all their cards, they still have the possibility to correct a set or run.

Scoring is also otherwise in this game, because here the one that gets rid of all cards wins the hand, but gets zero points. The other players then have to count the value of their cards and in the end the player that has the most points will lose and the one with the least points will win. Since the game has more rounds, it will not be a great mistake to remain with many cards in hands in a round. Anyhow, there are so many cards that there is almost impossible for a player to not meld anything, especially because it is possible to change already melded hands. To remain with less points in hands, players have to meld the cards that value more first. This way even if they remain with cards in hands that will not value much.

It is obvious that rummy originates from the east, but Shanghai rum is just another variation that was made in the past century. There are small differences between the types of rummy, but even so they are big enough to make a new type of game.

Russian Rummy

Rummy

Russian Rummy

rummy is an international game. It is there in every corner of the earth and even if it is a very old game, it could remain among the modern games, because it is very flexible.

Rummy is also an easy game and people love to play it. This fact is backed up by Russian rummy. This type of game, as its name suggests, is played mostly in Russia. It is a type of contract rummy with a bit different rules than the original, but basically it is the same game. It probably is a very fun game, because it is said that players play this game while drinking serious amounts of vodka. A proper rummy game needs a player to be at least a bit sober, but Russian rummy seems to forget this thing.

This game can be played by three to eight players. Depending on the number of the players the necessary number of decks is used. A deck is for two players, so if there are eight players, four decks are used. No matter the number of players, every player gets thirteen cards in every round.

The number of cards dealt in every round is usually the base point for any strategy used in rummy. In this case since thirteen cards are plenty, rushing for melding all cards would be a good strategy to suggest. The problem is, that after a certain amount of vodka the strategies start to fall apart. It is a well known effect of alcohol, that the user of it becomes happier and cannot pay attention to the small details. This is why suggesting any strategy in this game is useless. It is enough if players remember the rules of the game.

A player goes out only if all his cards are melded. This can be done only if a player is in his own turn and only if the given sets or runs can be made out of his cards. Otherwise the player has to wait another turn. The cards have to be put on the table for other players to see if they are in the correct set.

Like in other contract rummy types, the player with the smallest score wins, because here the score is gathered from deadwood cards. Deadwood cards mean the ones that remain in the player’s hand after someone gone out and won that round. This means players have to play in a way to remain with the least value in their hands. This is reachable if they play their big cards first. Melding high scoring sets and runs is a good strategy anyway, so using it helps in this type of rummy.

Russian rummy can be played anywhere, especially where people want to drink vodka and link it to something. With other words if someone wants to drink vodka and play rummy, Russian rummy is the name that will be used to cover the story before the wife or the boss.

Progressive Rummy is a Difficult Game

Progressive Rummy

Rummy

There are some rules that make progressive rummy harder to play than the simple one.

There are many variations of rummy around. Some of the variations are ought to make the game harder, others make it easier. One of the games that make rummy harder is progressive rummy. This type has strict rules that make the game if not harder, but more complicated and different.

Progressive rummy is played like the simple one, but it has differences like the number of cards dealt. In the first deal players get six cards, in the second they get seven, and so on. The other difference is that sets and runs cannot be extended. They have to be strict. This means that a set contains three cards and a run contains four. No more and no less.

It is obvious at first glance that these differences make the game harder to play. When a player can extend sets and runs already melded, it is much easier to get rid of cards in order to be the first who remains without cards in hands. Progressive rummy does not let a player to do this, so strict sets and runs have to be melded. This requires a totally different playing strategy.

It is good to start with the fact that shorter sets and runs make the game last longer. If there are more deals, the cards in player’s hands get added up. To have good chances, a player has to get out somewhere in the middle. It is very unlikely that a player can get out in the beginning, so after arranging the cards in hands in a way that they can be all melded, a good step has to be made.

Since melds cannot be extended, it is not good to rush with sets that can value more or be arranged otherwise. A good progressive rummy strategy is to wait in the beginning to see if you can make other sets with those cards. If a set cannot be built otherwise, it has to be melded. The other cards have to wait. Waiting is not always good. It has to have a limit, when a player melds everything he can. In the first few rounds it gets clear if a player can get a card that will help, or cards that cannot be put anywhere. Knowing this after a few rounds a player can start to meld as many cards as possible. The order of melding is defined by the chances of making a set from other cards. To be more precise, if there are few chances that a set can be built with another card, it can be melded.

This is not the only progressive rummy strategy, but it certainly works. It requires a player to know the whereabouts of cards and the chances of getting certain cards, but it can be used. It is not so entertaining when a player has to concentrate to so many things, but some people like the challenge. Progressive rummy is not good to start the learning with, because it is pretty hard to learn.

Kalooki Rummy

Kalooki Rummy

Rummy

Rummy is a very popular game. How popular this game is? It is played all over the world and it has a lot of variations. It is also played in Britain, and here we have to mention that the most liked version here is Kalooki rummy. This type of rummy is played in clubs and while basically it is like the real game, it has some things that differ.

The main difference between kalooki and simple rummy is the number of cards. Regardless of the number of players, every player gets 13 cards. This is strict and cannot be changed. It is also played with two decks where jokers are wildcards. This means that the number of players is limited, due to the restrictions of cards a player gets. The other difference is that this game is played usually by 2 or 4 players. This seems to have no importance, but the number of players makes it hard to know the place of cards. Good players can predict which card is where, but if two players play the game, it becomes difficult to know what cards the opponent has.

The goal in kalooki rummy, like in simple rummy, is to be the first who gets rid of cards in hands. This means that you have to know a good melding strategy in order to win. Creating sets and runs is easy, and since they can be extended, a player is able to meld cards that have their place in an already melded set or run. Since few players play and there are a lot of cards, creating a starting set or run is not hard. Even so, a player has take in consideration that a set that can be extended at both sides is better to start with. A good starting meld makes it easier to meld cards that cannot be put in other places.

Kalooki is not only popular in Britain in clubs, but it is also preferred in online casinos and playrooms. The online version is played the same, but there are differences in the tactics a player uses. When playing against a computer, a player expects a certain strategy the computer uses. When playing against other players online, things change a bit. Strategies that work in the real game will also work online, but probably they will not be so effective.

If you want to win in Kalooki rummy, you have to know some good melding strategies. Even so luck can get to the other players, so they can win, even if you know the game better and more. The chances of winning, if using strategies, are higher of course, but still not hundred percent. So, if you are asking if it is worth to learn some tricks, it definitely is. Without tricks you are simply playing a basic game for fun. With strategies you play seriously and for money. Decide what you want to do and start playing a game that is know everywhere.

Gin Rummy – Game Of Skills

Gin Rummy

Rummy

Gin rummy requires a lot of skills, because only skills can result in versatile strategies.

Gin rummy is a classic game that comes from simple rummy. It is played fairly the same, but since players love this type more and it is more popular in casinos, too, we have to mention some things about it that need to be known.

Some say that this game is a game of skills. This means a player has to have a lot of skills to play this game successfully. Why is this so? Gin rummy has a lot of card variations. A player can make an unbelievably high number of ten card hands. This way there cannot exist a given way players play this game. This lets players have their own style and play their own way. It is impossible for two players to play the same way in this game. Every player uses the cards in the hands the way it is best thought. This results in completely different play styles.

Even so, there might be some rummy strategy that can be applied or at least taken in consideration. Knowing basic things or mathematics in this game can help players use a strategy or at least a play style. For example, there are 44 melds of 3 cards that can make a sequence. This is good to know, especially because sequences can be extended on their both ends, so making points with sequences is more likely. Three of a kind sets are also good and they are more in number than sequence sets, but they cannot be extended, or they can be only extended by the same number they are made of.

The possibility of getting good cards is pretty high, because this game is played with two decks. Now the problem is the fact, that players do not know how to make good melds. This is where a good rummy strategy is needed. It is impossible to make a good strategy that always works. The only thing that can be done is to know the basic things gin rummy hides. Combining these things can result in a strategy, but because all the players are different, they make different strategies. No one will see the same strategy used by different players.

The fact that strategies are different means that the game will change at every table. This means that the player has to be flexible and to use strategies that can overcome the others. Now this is a pretty big requirement and this is why people say that gin rummy is a game of skills. If a player has good skills, meaning that knows all the small details that are required for a good gin rummy strategy, it is more likely that player will win at many tables and in most of the games.

Learning all these things is not easy, however, but with proper enthusiasm it is possible. Those, who know the game well, did not master the game in a day. They had to learn it. Now they make use of this knowledge by using strategies that blow your mind.

Emotions in Rummy

Strategy

Emotions

Emotions in Rummy

Rummy
<guid

People are different, but in some things we all are alike. We are easily driven by emotions. This means nothing else, but the way we learn to play rummy on a professional level.

Emotions are important, because there are moments when without feelings we would not have enough motivation to continue. This moment is there in every game. Athletes meet this problem the most, because the physical body cannot endure endless pressure. This is called the gate, or the wall, when only the mind is able to make the body continue. Of course, in card games this is not so hard, but there is also a wall when players decide if they continue, or let it dive into forgetting.

Rummy is a simple game. At least people think so, because everybody knows only the basic game and basic rules. The thing is that rummy has a lot of types and every type is played differently. To master all the strategies and rules of rummy, a player is required to dedicate a lot of time for this. Now this is when people usually make mistakes.

When someone dedicates a lot of time to something, results are expected. This is the worst part of all. If a player has luck and can combine strategies in a good way, a lot of victories can be expected. Even so, if everything is done, there are cases when the player cannot win. In this case a player can easily give up.

Let us think a bit on the case when someone gives up. Rummy needs a lot of time. If we give up, we wasted our time in vain. That time could have been easily used for something else, something that brings results. This is the first thought a man can think of, but the truth is that after so many time that was used for learning, a player will master every bit of knowledge about rummy. This is a knowledge that few of us have, so we can make use of this knowledge, even if not for winning.

Now is when we have to break down the wall. If we will continue, we will surely come up with a rummy strategy that will let us win. A few losses in the beginning will occur, but these are temporary. We have to have patience, because the other players did not master the knowledge, we did, so they will fail after a time. There is no such thing like continuous luck. A player who has luck will eventually fail buy not knowing what to do. This is absolutely true for rummy, because here are so many things a player has to pay attention to, that a starter will fail to remember them.

So, players who want to dedicate their free time to rummy: be patient! Patience will bring its fruits and you will see that if you can successfully break down the wall, only good things will follow. Remember, this requires a lot of time and a lot of dedication.

The difference between simple and online rummy

Rummy

Online Rummy

Rummy is an old game that has gathered a lot of respect over time. Even so, with the new digital world, it had to adapt to the ever growing online world. Because the two worlds are different, the game had to suffer some changes to be able to live online.

The difference between simple and online rummy is not in the game itself. This means that the game is played the same, the rules are the same. But if the game stays the same, what is the difference that needs mentioning?

The first thing that has to be mentioned is the way the game is played. Simple rummy that is played in families and among friends is played for fun and for spending time well. When playing among friends, the goal is not to win, and thus the game will not be tense. Special strategies and tactics will not be used, because they are not needed. Rummy is good if luck can play the major part of it. When playing without focusing on a good play, rummy can be a lot of fun. Online rummy is different in a lot of things. Of course, online rummy also can be played for fun, but someone will not learn to play this game just to have fun, or to play against the computer. Usually if someone starts to play online rummy, the goal is to play for money, or against other players. Because we do not know these players, we will not pay attention to them, we will try to win. In order to win, we have to know a lot of strategies, and the game will become more tense. It will need a lot of concentration, so it will be played totally different than a simple family party.

Now that we saw how different the same game can be played, we have to realize that the different ways of playing need different rummy strategies. When playing around a table on a sunny afternoon, only basic strategies have to be applied. It would be bad if only one person won every time. The game would become boring. In the online version it is totally different. Here a lot of rummy strategies have to be known, otherwise winning would be hard or even impossible. Every player creates own strategies, because the game allows the use of many ideas.

Now it is obvious that playing home will not make someone a master of rummy. In order to master the game, a player has to begin an online career of rummy play. There are a lot of free rummy games where a player can practice and in order to have success, practicing is a must. When someone starts to see the hidden things in rummy, the game will be learned well, but the fun will go away. Using all brain muscles to win a match cannot be fun, so the two styles of play are like cleaning the house and building a spaceship. They are simply not the same.
